About our Molding Products
Molding is an angled trim that is typically
used to decorate where walls and ceilings meet. This decorative
trim has been in existence for centuries and continues to
be popular today, as people strive to add details and texture
to the rooms in their homes. Traditionally, molding was made
out of plaster, but today it also comes in wood, resin and
urethane.
Typically, when you have higher ceilings,
you can use more molding. Adding a sculpted trim
can add an elegant touch to your room. Crown molding can
dress up a room by providing a contrast or match to the
color on the walls. Imagine a pale yellow colored room
with deep cherry wood molding to frame the walls and door.
You can also choose molding that matches your ceiling medallion,
furniture, or fabric colors. Molding can give a room a
more finished or dramatic look than a room that does not
have any contrasting trim or decoration near the ceilings.
Since molding has become popular again
in home decorating, manufacturers have developed faux wood
textures that are easier to work with. These newer moldings
are made of high quality foams and polymers. They are lighter
and easier to handle than solid wood molding. The corners
do not have to be mitered, as these moldings come with
decorative corner pieces. Additionally, faux finish molding
is not as sensitive to heat, cold, and other climate changes
that age natural woods, so you don’t have to worry
about maintenance. Finally, these synthetic wood moldings
usually cost less than actual wood allowing you can accent
your walls without spending a lot of money. |
